About:

I am a fully qualified Registered General Nurse and experienced aural care nurse. I have 20 years + experience of working as an R.G.N. & Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (ECP) in both the NHS and private health/hospital settings.

I trained in 2014 to undertake ear micro-suction at the Ear Care Training Centre in Rotherham. This college has long been regarded as a Gold Standard training centre within the field of ear micro-suction. I have additionally taken extended training to treat children aged 5-17 years for ear wax removal. More recently in 2022, I attended a Training Academy in London to extend my skills in the use of video otoscopy to remove impacted ear wax . This system uses a high-definition video camera to see directly into the ear canal before, throughout and following micro-suction treatment.  

Ear micro-suction is currently the safest form of ear wax removal. 

  

 I continue to work part-time for the NHS (in an acute setting), to ensure my clinical practice is current and that I'm adhering to best practice guidelines. I additionally have Advanced Nurse qualifications in clinical examination and prescribing.  

 

GP surgeries and the primary care setting and have seen the funding for ear care services decline over the last few years. Consequently, very few surgeries now offer ear wax removal services for adults or children.  

I am committed to providing a high-quality service to my clients. I firmly believe that accessibility to professional ear care services is an essential part of maintaining good ear health. 

  

The Bournemouth Clear Ear Clinic has Professional Business Indemnity Insurance. All staff are required to hold an Enhanced DBS and be suitably qualified. I am registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). Additionally, I subscribe to ENT UK and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
